Appraisals

We provide personal property appraisals and inventories for estate executors and administrators, attorneys, guardians, insurance underwriting, individuals and corporate collections, institutions, museums, and other interested parties.

Nevada Statues require an appraisement in almost every estate and guardianship. Our company provides highly accurate and detailed personal property appraisals and inventories that are accepted by all courts of law, the Internal Revenue Service and insurance companies. All of our appraisals adhere to and comply with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Services (USPAP), The American Society of Professional Appraisers( ASA),and Certified Appraisers Guild of America (CAGA) code of ethics, and the Appraisal Standards as set by Appraisal Foundation of America. The reports include a full inventory, item description with measurements, photographs (when requested), and any other relevant information such as provenance, historical significance, comparable sales, etc. Each written and certified report is professionally printed and bound.

Each item is explained carefully, catalogued and valued. Artwork is researched in various data bases and compared with Art Loss Registry and Getty Research Institute Object ID standards. There can be no higher level of protection for the estate, executor, guardian or attorney. All reports are completed in a timely manner, and an express service is available for clients with more immediate needs.

The Personal Touch

David Arenaz, CAGA, and Principal Appraiser conducts or is involved with every single aspect of the process to ensure that every client receives a highly personalized service along with the knowledge that their appraisal is being handled by a professional appraiser.

Often an appraisal is needed for complex reasons such as, estate probate, guardianships, divorce litigation, debt resolution or bankruptcy. We understand that these clients may be undergoing a time of personal loss, and stress levels and emotions can be quite high. We do not ignore these factors and take extra care to handle these situations with discretion, grace and genuine compassion. We believe this extra personal touch is necessary and a vital element of our services. All of our services are  executed in the strictest of confidence and at no time do we share personal information with any third party.

Fees

Appraisals and inventories are billed at $95 per hour with a two hour minimum. Travel time in excess of 30 minutes is billed at the same rate as well as research and report preparation. Most estate inventories and appraisals average $300-$400. In reality however, there is often times no actual cost to the estate. As we inventory and appraise the items we often uncover hidden or unexpected values that equate to a cash bonus for the estate. Expert Witness testimony is $200 per hour.
